Research in progress
What has been established, what is still open, and where the answers might be found.
127 people · 301 records and photographs · 54 research questions, 10 answered
The research behind the history began in October 2026 and is still going. Each question below has an ID that also appears on the pages of the people it concerns. A question is answered when the record is in hand; partly answered when some of it is; open when the right source has not yet been found or searched.
Much of the work is in the parish books, estate revisions and household registers of the National Archives of Estonia, read online in its Saaga viewer; in the refugee files of the Arolsen Archives; and in American immigration and census records.
Appendix E · Further research sets out the main open questions in prose.
