Notes

  • Living in Nov 1907 (daughter's marriage).
  • The 1918 death is probably not his: Peter Purtsak of "Мойзекюль" (Mõisaküla), died 15 Jun 1918, buried 20 Jun, aged 52 6/12 (so b. about Dec 1865), married, consumption (EAA.1275.1.566 img 60, entry 75; SL-128). He would have been 18 when Marie was born; same village, so perhaps a relative.
  • His family: Halliste household book EAA.1275.1.547 (vol. 292) p. 81 is image 87 (SL-154), not image 98 as the research gave. The household is headed by "Knecht Jaak Pursak", b. 16 May 1809. Peter is his second son ("2. S. Peter", b. Dec 52, gest. 12 Nov 1914); beneath him are his wife Anno ("1922 No 10 Karksi") and daughter Marie Caroline (b. 22 Juli 84, "cop. … Nov 1907 Juhan Koik", "1922 No 35 Karksi"). the research’s "seven children" (Hans, Peter, An m. 1887, Mel?, Jaan m. 1896 to Emmi, Reet, Tina) are therefore Peter's brothers and sisters, Marie's aunts and uncles, not her siblings (medium-high).
  • Older Purtsaks who may be his forebears (hypotheses only): Kaarl Purtsak (b. about 1802); Jaan (b. about 1818, married 1837, wife Kadri, later at Abja) with son Peter b. 24 Oct (or 3 Nov) 1839 (EAA.1275.1.547 p. 82, img 99; EAA.1275.1.552 img 92 (SL-130, SL-131)). That Peter could be Marie's father only by a second marriage to a younger Anu.
  • Purtsak graves at Halliste (Jaan 1870–1918 and others) are not linked to him.
  • A Märt Purtsak, b. 28 Nov 1840, in the Kirbla section of household book vol. 298 (EAA.1275.1.557 img 259, p. 278; SL-156) is a possible relative.
