Notes

  • Juhan's uncle. Confirmed: the Paistu household book p. 174 (EAA.1286.1.382 img 188; SL-166) lists "† Hans [Märt, Mari]", b. Alt-Karishof 22 Jan 1846, baptized Halliste, wife Ann, directly below his brother Peter. A low-confidence note on his line reads "…haus Hallist 96 VII 18 No 32" (perhaps a move to Halliste, 18 Jul 1896).
  • Probably the "Knecht Hans Koik" who was godfather to his nephew Hans in Feb 1877.
  • Probably the Hans Koik of Euseküll Karaski whose son Peter died aged 7 on 9 Feb 1877. If so, Hans lived on the same estate as his brother Peeter in the 1870s. To confirm.
  • Grave lead (low): a Hans Koik and a Mari Koik, with no dates, share Paistu cemetery XV 73. Nothing ties them to this Hans.
