Research notes
- Confidence: High: birth, baptism, marriage and death all found.
- Death found. He died in January 1896, when his son Juhan was 14. His widow Els was still living in 1924–27.
- He was a lodger (жилецъ) at Ilbaku farm on Alt-Karrishof when he died.
- Birth settled: the Vana-Kariste births list gives 7 Feb 1849, which fits his age at death exactly (46 years 10 months). The "33 Jahr" in the 1875 marriage entry is an error; he was 26. No Peter son of Märt in the 1841–42 births. He was the younger brother of Hans (K-005, b. 1846).
- No grave found on kalmistud.ee; there is no Karksi or Vana-Kariste-specific listing, and the Halliste and Paistu Koik graves belong to other families.
