Mari Koik, née Riig
c. 1819–1885
Marri Koik, née Riig, was Märt Koik’s wife. Born about 1819 at Lobbine farm on the Vana-Kariste estate, the daughter of Peter Riig and Els, she grew up at Leppiko and married Märt in 1845. She died at Carlsberg on 31 July 1885.

Notes
- Maiden name Riig, born at Lobbine farm on the same estate. Her parents' names were not noted by the agent: re-read the marriage entry.
- Birth about 1819: her ages in 1845, 1858 and 1885 agree; the household book's "about 1814" is probably wrong.
- Her 1885 death entry, No. 117, had been passed over in the research as "a Carlsberg woman, not Koik"; the surname can look like "Köie" in that hand. "Verheirathet" is probably the clerk's habit; a second marriage after 1874 is possible but unproven.
