Research notes

  • Confidence: High: baptism found.
  • Sister of Ado (Aadu) Tõllasepp (L-120) and, probably, of Tõnis Tõllasepp (L-128, 1871–1904).
  • Grave register: "Mari Leoke (Tõllasepp), 05.05.1867 – 18.02.1954", burial date 23.02.1957, Pauluse IX 124-8.
  • Her baptism names her father as Jaan, which confirms that she is the "Mari Jaani t. Leoke" (Mari, daughter of Jaan) who received the certificates declaring Elmar Oswald and his family missing in Oct 1945 (Eesti NSV Teataja Lisa 1945 no. 2 (11 Dec 1945), p. 9, DIGAR 232025). Her father Jaan is confirmed by the baptism, and again by her son Hans's own biography of about 1923, which names his mother "Mari Jaani t. Tõllasepp" of Vana-Võidu.
